Hey there,
Are you looking for a job? Are you sending applications but not getting any interviews? If you're still using traditional job boards like LinkedIn, Indeed, or Glassdoor, you might be missing out on better opportunities. Here's a unique and highly effective strategy to help you find jobs in specific industries, areas, or even remote positions, all without using any job boards.
Most people use traditional job boards to apply for jobs. Every single job on these platforms gets hundreds of applicants, making it easy for your resume to get lost. Instead, you can explore hidden opportunities that attract fewer applicants and offer roles suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced professionals.
Open up your notepad and write down job titles that interest you. For example, if you're looking for a web development position, consider titles like React JS Developer, Python Developer, and Full Stack Developer.
Next, list industries you would like to work in, such as IT, Automotive, Fintech, or E-commerce.
Think of locations where you would like to work. You can skip this step if you're looking for remote jobs. If you're considering international positions, research visa requirements.
Google dorks are specialized search queries that help you find specific results on Google. Use a format that includes the job title within double quotes, the industry, and location. Exclude websites like indeed.*, linkedin.*, etc., to filter out common job boards.
Create 6 to 7 search queries and open a spreadsheet. Visit at least the first five pages of the Google search results for these queries. Copy the URLs and titles of all relevant results into your spreadsheet.
You'll find three types of pages: job lists (career pages), direct job postings, and irrelevant pages (blogs, news). Save job list URLs and job posting URLs in your spreadsheet. Open job lists and add postings to your spreadsheet. Repeat this process until you have hundreds of good jobs listed.
Go back to your spreadsheet, open each job posting, check its relevance, and score it from 1 to 10. Sort your spreadsheet by the best-scoring jobs. Now, you have a list of great opportunities.
Write personalized cover letters for the top jobs on your list and apply. Doing this for a few days will increase your chances of getting interviews.
